SHRIYA CARRIES THE METALLURGY LOOK

For her latest Metallurgy collection specially created for Raksha Bandhan, designer Babita Malkani chose sultry actress Shriya Saran as a model because “she’s the epitome of young, urban style, and that spirit is the essence of my collection”.

Style, believes Malkani, comes from the design being complemented by the wearer’s attitude. And her Metallurgy range of urban chic, featuring vivid colours with bold digital prints and hints of metal, pleased the actress no end.

“I like the use of colour in Babita’s collection,” said Shriya talking of the soft mauves and apple greens, dramatic cobalt blues and bright crimsons in the line. “That’s one of the best things about being an Indian, our sense of style allows for a much wider selection of colour.” Describing the designer’s pieces as being simultaneously feminine and royal, Shriya added, “They are perfect for a red carpet appearance.”
